Zen proverb 19 : Henkaikatsutekakusazu

Hello! This is Katsuya Yasuda from Yasuda Consulting.

I will introduce a new Zen proverb. It is “Henkaikatsutekakusazu.”

This world doesn’t conceal anything.

If you can’t see, look carefully.

If you can’t feel, be responsive.

We should develop our eyes.

We should cultivate our spirits.

Zen proverb 18 : Ichigyozanmai

Hello! This is Katsuya Yasuda from Yasuda Consulting.

I will introduce a new Zen proverb. It is “Ichigyozanmai.”

Ichigyo means only one action.

Zanmai means all you want to do.

So Ichigyozanmai means to do only one action which you want to do.

Do you have such an action?

In my case, it is roasting coffee beans. it is my hobby.

I always focus to make delicious coffee. But only one thing I can do is to toss the frying pan. I don’t think anything except tossing it.

It is mental concentration.

Zen proverb 17 : Mujouzinsoku

Hello! This is Katsuya Yasuda from Yasuda Consulting.

I will introduce a new Zen proverb. It is “Mujouzinsoku.”

Life is bu a span.

We don’t have any time which we can wastefully use.

How can we avoid to waste much time?

One significant answer is being honest with myself.

Zen proverb 16 : Wakoudoujin

Hello! This is Katsuya Yasuda from Yasuda Consulting.

I will introduce a new Zen proverb. It is “Wakoudoujin.”

It means that we should humbly help everyone.

Even though you hold a high position, you should conceal it.

Even though you have a high ability, you shouldn’t show off.

To conceal and to show off means that you should be like a dust.

 

Zen proverb 15 : Chisoku

Hello! This is Katsuya Yasuda from Yasuda Consulting.

I will introduce new Zen proverb. It is “Chisoku.”

“Chi” means to know.

“Soku” means “sufficient.”

Do you want more?

Do you feel it isn’t enough?

You already have enough.

If you can realize it, you can feel happy.

The person who knows that I have enough is the closest to be happy.

 

Zen proverb 14 : Mukudoku

I will introduce a new Zen proverb. It is “MUKUDOKU.”

We can empty our mind by doing virtuous acts while being unnoticed.

“Kudoku” means rewards for virtuous acts.

But we shouldn’t desire rewards.

We shouldn’t think our action is virtuous or not.

Doing virtuous acts is as same as not doing such things.

“Mu” means ‘nothing.’

We can live without doing any virtuous acts.

We should appreciate getting opportunities to do virtuous acts.

Zen proverb 13 : Wakeiseijaku

I introduce new Zen proverb. It is “WA KEI SEI JAKU.”

WA means harmony in Japan. and it doesn’t mean “same”.

We have our individuality one another. it is vital for harmony.

If music tones are same, harmony will not happen.

C, E, G tone will make good harmony.

This Zen proverb says we should respect each other for good harmony.

Zen proverb 12 : Hougejaku

I’ll introduce new Zen proverb. It is “Hougejaku.”

“HOUGE” means dumping.

“JAKU” means what you are wearing or having.

Can you dump yours, for example, clothes, money, thinking and so on.

By keeping to dump, what remains as the last one you have?

You can realize who you are.

Zen proverb 11 : Ichijitsunasazareba Ichijitsukurawazu

Hello! I am Katsuya Yasuda from Yasuda Consulting.

I introduce a Zen proverb ‘Ichijitsunasazareba Ichijitsukurawazu.’

It has two meaning.

One is “If you don’t work , you can’t eat.”

“Ichijitsu” means one day.

so we can also say “”If you don’t work today, you can’t eat today.”

How about tomorrow?

Nowadays we have many foods in developed country. If we eat many foods today, we don’t need to eat tomorrow. But it is not good for health.

Many people work hard everyday. When will it finish? To work hard everyday isn’t good for life.

We should live politely in each day. This is second meaning.

Zen proverb 10 : Fukashigi

Hi. I’m Katsuya Yasuda from Yasuda Consuting. I will introduce 10th Zen proverb “Fukashigi.”

It means “Beyond words and thoughts.”

There are many things which can’t be explained by words.

It has no means to try explaining them.

We should receive as they are.
